National Championship Divisions

Alpine, Telemark, Snowboard and Adaptive racers are placed in one of four Divisions: Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze Division.

If you have one or two race days, your best handicap will determine your division: Platinum Division, Gold Division, Silver Division or Bronze Division.

If you have three or more race days your National Average handicap will determine your division: Platinum Division, Gold Division, Silver Division or Bronze Division. The National Average handicap is an average of your three best handicaps that are earned on three different days.

The NASTAR Handicap Chart shows the handicap needed in each age & gender category to be placed in a particular division.

If you compete as a Snowboarder, Telemarker or Physically Challenged Racer, you are placed in your division based on the medal earned with the handicap discount. There are sub-divisions within the physically challenged disciplines for race day awards. Your Racer Division is indicated on your Race Record.
