Bump Rule Details:
National Championship competitors will be bumped up to a new divisions if they break out of their qualifying division during the first day of competition.
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Division racers that earn a platinum medal handicap that is within the top 50% of the platinum medal range during the first day of competition will be moved to the Platinum Division for the second day of competition, and will earn a final result in the Platinum Division (see chart below).
- Silver and Bronze Division racers that earn a platinum medal handicap during the first day of competition will be moved to the gold division for the second day of competition, and will earn a final result in the Gold Division.
- Bronze Division racers that earn a gold medal handicap during the first day of competition will be moved to the silver division for the second day of competition and will earn a final result in the Silver Division.
Racers that get bumped up will be placed on the start order in their new division and they must race on their assigned race venue within their new division, age and gender group.
Awards will be presented to all "Bumped" competitors Friday afternoon at 4:030pm on the main stage.
Racers that get bumped up will earn their final placing based on the single best handicap earned on the second day of racing. The result that bumped the racer to their new division on day one is dropped because the gold, silver & bronze race venues respectively are less challenging. To earn a place on the podium, bumped racers must beat the handicap of the racers within their division from the same day. For example, if the average handicap of a racer in a division is higher than a bumped racer's single day handicap, the bumped racer must beat their competitors handicaps on the same race venue or they will not be awarded their finish position.
