With such a rich ski racing history dating all the way back to the 1960 Winter Olympics and most recently hosting a 2017 Audi FIS Ski World Cup last March, Squaw Valley is proud to host the NASTAR National Championships.  Add in a jammed packed lineup of incredible music featuring local and regional bands; Orgone and Lost Whiskey Engine, sunny California skies and over 6,000 acres of skiable terrain, you’ve got yourself the perfect recipe for a ski vacation. Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of NASTAR at Squaw Valley March 19-25.

NASTAR has partnered with Squaw Valley to offer great discounts on lift tickets for National Championship competitors and guests! It is highly recommended that participants purchase their lift tickets in advance. Additional days can be added if needed when you are at Squaw Valley. Pick up lift tickets at Competitor Check in at Base Camp Tuesday, March 20 - Friday, March 23 to pick up your tickets - must have your receipt.

 

If you're interested in race clinics before Nationals...Squaw will be offering a special race clinic the week prior to the competition. Each race clinic will include the technical skills of effective ski shape in a turn, tactics of the line, and where to most effectively start the turn. Our coaches are able to take you to the next level of ski racing.

 

Get ready for a week packed with music, events, families competing for gold, glory, bragging rights and all around good times. Racers are grouped by ability, age, gender, and discipline and can even participate in the Friends Race or Family Race. At the end of the week, if you were a winner in any discipline, you move on to the Race of Champions, a true NASTAR handicapped race. 

 

During the week, we'll be listening to....

On Thursday we'll get the party started with Orgone, a California soul and jazz band, groovy! 

On Friday and Saturday, bluegrass jammers, Lost Whiskey Engine will keep the positive energy alive. 

On Sunday, get ready for Afro/Samba/Funk/Dance band SambaDa, dubbed the west coast's hottest Brazilian band.
